Rallies took place in 35 capital cities around the globe to demand an end to the destruction of childhood in Darfur. 27 Feb 08 – On 1st anniversary of naming Darfur war crimes suspects, Aegis co-founds wantedforwarcrimes.org, calling for the immediate arrest of men wanted for crimes against humanity in Darfur. 18 Mar 08 – Gateways School in Leeds held ‘Darfur Day’, combining fundraising with learning about Darfur. Activities included a ‘refugee camp’ being set up in the school lift, and a fashion show attended by ex-model Caprice.

Friday March 7th: Tuxford School held a non-uniform day in aid of Fund4Darfur raising just over £1,000 for Fund4Darfur
Saturday March 1st: The Aegis Society at London’s Central School Of Speech & Drama is brought together dance and movement tutors, bands and musicians for a 10-hour Dance for Darfur to raise awareness and funds for Fund4Darfur.
Friday February 29th: Following a week of fundraising from seven schools in West Oxfordshire, £6,500 was raised for Fund4Darfur. Money was generated from non-uniform days, collection buckets and some generous parental donations. The fundraising coincided with the handing over of a 6,000-strong signature petition to the Witney MP and Conservative Party Leader, David Cameron.
Friday February 15th: Sussex University Aegis Society raised £156 for Fund4Darfur through a cake sale and raffle this week, and St Hugh’s College, Oxford, ran a charity auction some of the proceeds of which will go to Fund4Darfur.
Monday February 11th: Amy Harrison joins the Fund4Darfur team, coming to us fresh from presenting with Channel Four’s ‘Bite’ programme. Amy works from Aegis’ office at the Holocaust Centre and can be contacted on amy.harrison@fund4darfur.org.
Sunday February 3rd: A street collection to raise money for Fund4Darfur took place in Nottingham City Centre and raised over £1000. The collection was operated by students from the Aegis Societies at both Nottingham Universities.
Sunday January 27th: £250 was raised at a Holocaust Memorial Day commemoration in Bournemouth.
Christmas Ceilidh - Dec 29th 07: Over 90 people gathered at Barrowby village hall (Nr Grantham - Lincolnshire, UK) on the evening of the 29th of December for a festive four hours of traditional Scottish dancing. There was also a tombolla, raffle and whiskey roll all to help raise money for Fund4Darfur. Over £1,100 was raised from the evening - Thank you to all who helped organise the event and to everyone who attended.
Street Collection - Dec 29th 07: With the post-Christmas sales in full swing, a small but dedicated group of Fund4Darfur supporters took advantage of the increased volume of shoppers to collect money on the streets of Mansfield, UK. £400 was raised.
Street Collection - Dec 18th 07: More than 50 students and members of the public spent a few hours on the streets of the London borough of Westminster, for a street collection which raised just over £3,500 pounds.
